As said by our former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, “A library is the heart of an institution.” It is the lighthouse for information dissemination and also plays a vital role in the entire learning process of an individual right from the early days of school to higher educational days of research and beyond. The Golaghat Polytechnic Library cum Reading Room takes pride in a well-stocked library enriched with a wide collection of textbooks and reference books. It covers approx. 305 sqm. of carpet area with a seating capacity of 84 people; 10 nos. of multimedia PCs and 1 library management software for the students and the faculties. The library provides quality resources and innovative services such as the subscription to the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) to stimulate creativity and intellectual curiosity among all the students as well as the faculties of the institute. It is managed by an efficient staff under the guidance of the Institute Authority. Constant upgradation of the library list and addition of new books in every field to the current collection is regularly maintained. The library also subscribes to daily Newspapers (both local and National), magazines, journals and periodicals which keep the students updated about everything happening in and around them.

To keep pace with the demand of the times, the college authority has undertaken the task of computerization of the library stock of books and their details which ensures convenient functioning. The students can also register themselves to the NDLI which is a single window platform that provides learning resources with an aim to make e-learning and education accessible to all. The Golaghat Polytechnic Library is open and provides reading room facilities to all students from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM during working days. Library cards are issued for the students which they need to carry with them while entering the library and also to borrow books from the library.
